Description
The ladies of Hyrule are gathered to relax in one of Midna’s favorite spots from her adventure with Link, a small, dimly lit room hidden under the Temple of Time.
This piece involved a whole lot of post-production, as well as intensive rendering effects I typically don’t use, namely volumetric light, or “God rays” as most people know it. I wanted to give the sunlight streaming in from the broken up ceiling a really awesome look, fitting with the setting of this as a ruin. Initially, the effect was much thicker, but it became destructive to the overall piece once the girls were added (you could hardly see them). Ultimately, I went with a much more subtle look, which while it loses the rays and sun stream effect, manages to add just enough to keep things interesting.
Finally, in post, I added fireflies, visible only in the darkened area underneath the temple. I absolutely adore this piece.
Thanks for looking!
